It always takes time for me to really love films. Sure I enjoy them and get caught up in the excitement but it's rare that something comes along and I fall in love first time round. I've seen sinners once and I'm almost certain it might have crawled firmly into my top 10 of all time.
Coogler delivers something magical here. He pulls together incredible performances across the board and turns out a film steeped in sexy, sweaty, bloody, blues. The music is integral to the film and I've been listening to Goransson's score almost non-stop since I came out of the cinema. Seriously... I had to speak to my family. And sleep. But the headphones have been in.

I'm going to go try catch it again before it leaves the IMAX as this has been masterfully shot and uses the format as good as anything outside of a Nolan film ever has. Maybe even better.
Well played to all involved.
