As a kid I would do my paper round, and use some of my hard earned cash to buy 2000AD, Coke and some Wine Gums and hide myself away for an hour or so. I still have a large stack of these 90s comics in the corner of my office.

I enjoyed both cinematic interpretations of Dredd for different reasons. In an ideal world it would be great to mash the two together and create an amalgamation of the styles and tone. However I enjoyed Urban's take on the character more than Stallone's.
Finally getting a Dredd helmet in my office is something I've coveted for years. I got myself a Raw print from Arcade Prints and using some silicone spray and fine sandpaper smoothed off an already great quality print even more.

Then I applied some gloss black and chrome look paint, finished by some gloss cote for the metal base. (pictured here with added rain water.)

This is where it gets fun. I applied masking fluid, essentially creating the chips in the forthcoming layers.

I then added the colours on top of this and then had the gloriously satisfying process of rubbing off the masking to reveal the metallic undercoat.

Finally I added some weathering powder to add blast damage to the chipped areas.

I appreciate most Judges have impeccably glossy uniforms however I really enjoyed Dredd's lived in feel as though despite the best efforts of the Judges law was on the very brink of exhaustion and collapse. I really hope Rebellion move forward with a sequel to the movie, be it a cinematic or serialised story. Maybe both?
